If you do miss out on food first thing in the morning your body will go into “starvation mode” – your metabolism will start to slow down. That means that when you do finally eat, you will not burn up the same level of calories and tend to store more calories as fat"
I'm watching Celebrity Fit Club, and also perusing the website of the program too, and its led me to think about weight loss and being healthy and diets and things like that. And the nations current obsession with it. The above quotes are from the website, part of the guide to healthy eating. They say, don't go on a "diet", change your eating habits to a healthy diet, give yourself guidelines that are healthy and eat around them, dont count calories, dont make it seem like a temporary change in your lifestyle it has to be permanent etc. I read all this stuff and it makes me wonder. a lot of the things they say are very bad habits that you shouldnt do, are things I do every day. see the above quotes. I do feel that i dont drink enough, i reach for the chocolate rather than the water, and i never have breakfast. Yet in the last several many years my weight has not changed noticeably, i've been the same dress size since forever..
