Polgara the Sorceress will take me longer to read than its predecessor I think. Its not quite as gripping a tale as Belgarath the Sorceror, and its written in slightly a different style. Definately recognisable as David Eddings, but I guess its supposed to be quite different to Belgarath the Sorceror, since each book is written from the point of view of the person in the title, and Mister Wolf has a very different character to Aunt Pol.
