I really don't like this whole consecutive weekends for courses thing I've got going on. Due to Tax on Sunday last, and Law on both days this weekend, today is now day 9 of my marathon 13-days-without-a-day-off. And I'm starting to get a little sleepy and distracted. I'm also hungry, which doesnt help, and since I didnt have time to do the food shopping this weekend, I have no food! May have to nip over the road and get something snacky to get me through to lunchtime.
Fortunately, I have plenty of work to be getting on with, otherwise I'd be going quite mad!
Fortunately, no course next weekend, so am free to sit in front of my telly for 8 hours or however long it is, watching all three games.
What else have I done this weekend.. Well, with the laptop in for repairs i haven't spent much time on the computer, on the internet etc, as I've had to borrow Jamie's computer of Dooooom which he has mostly been playing new games on. Last night, after I moaned about the state of the house, I somehow galvanised Jamie into action and we did loads of useful things. Sorted out a huge pile of paperwork, shredded loads of documents, tidied up the old computer bits and all the boxes and things, cleared out the crap from the living room and hoovered. Jamie did the hoovering while I went to the Co-op to buy baking potatoes, and luckily for me it meant I wasnt there when he discovered an enormous spider behind the sofa.
I also got my duster out and removed all the old cobwebs from the ceilings, including the massive ones in the stairwell that have been there gathering dust for nearly 3 years. It was very cool, now the house feels so much cleaner. Andy was berated about the lack of bathroom cleaning (bath is slowly turning black again, its been a month or so since he last even touched it with a sponge) and that should get done tonight, leaving the bedroom as the only real state of emergency. However, I don't have time to deal with that tonight, as when I get home I have to faff about with the internet, as we switched to Sky from Tiscali and its gone live today, so we currently have no internets!
Have the new wireless router Sky sent, so I just need to plug that in and stuff. Means I now have a spare Belkin wireless router, but we'll probably hang onto that and sell it to Andy when he moves out.
And then we have to go to Sainsburys (a 30 mile round trip!) to do the food shopping. So I wont get much of an evening tonight either!
I am hoping that work wont be too stressful this week, because I'm not sure if I could cope if something went horribly wrong!
Of course, I'm not going to have much in the way of relaxing weekends anyway, for the next few weeks, cos of all the work I have to do for my courses! Don't have to do too much for Tax, cos I've only got one day's worth of home study, but before the next Law weekend (5/6 April) I have to do all the home study, practise questions and then do the first course exam!
And with the rugby this weekend, that wipes out Saturday completely. The following weekend is Easter, so I'll be at Caro's on the Saturday, but at least I'll have the monday off to do work (I shall be relaxing on Good Friday!). The weekend after is the next weekend of my Tax course, so I'll not be doing any work then, and then its the second Law weekend. So lots of work in the evenings for me.
So, just for my own record, here's my current diary schedule for the weekends ahead:
15/16 March - saturday - Six nations final day, sunday - useful things like shopping and tidying and studying
21/22/23/24 March - Friday - relax with Jamie, maybe do something fun in an outdoors kind of way, if the weather is nice. Sat/Sun - Caro's for the singing and playing with cats. Mon - studying!
29/30 March - both days - Tax course
5/6 April - both days - Law course
12/13 April - free weekend? So most likely studying, as there will be final course exams to sit.
19/20 April - rock climbing course in Guildford, rest of weekend likely to be filled with fun and study in equal measure
26/27 April - Wales for Carol's wedding. it is unfortunate that it clashes with Dave Y & Lucy's wedding, but we've already RSVP'd to Carol and we've been invited to the whole day, compared to D&L's evening invite and it being miles away from anywhere (down in Kent somewhere). which reminds me, need to RSVP to D&L
3/4 May - currently nothing in the diary, so studying, plus rock climbing (presuming we pass the course)
10/11 May - theoretically there's a fancy dress birthday party of the girl-who's-just-left-work-here
17/18 May - will be in Wales with my parents and Jamie on our lovely cheap holiday, no doubt I will have to take my studies with me
24/25 May - studying (plus rock climbing)
31 May/1 June - crazy mad frantic last minute panicking (otherwise known as the two days before my exams)
7/8 June - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. After that crazy hectic schedule I shall be enjoying a weekend off. with added rock climbing.
So yeah, busy busy busy.
Wow when put like that the exams really don't seem all that far away! And also, by the time that schedule is done, it'll be halfway through the year already, and I'll be hurtling towards our 3rd anniversary! Where has all this time gone?
Still, at least it doesnt provide much opportunity for spending money irresponsibly!
