Vets and stuff

He is the most well behaved cat ever! Completely didn't mind getting in his carrier, didn't make a mess or anything. Cried a bit, but not in an overly distressed way.
Got to the vets, didn't have to wait long which was nice. Vet was very nice lady, checked him over, said he was probably about 5 or 6. Other than being a bit thin, nothing really wrong with him, she gave him a worming tablet (which was fun). He does have a microchip, but they can't check the database till monday. They agreed with me that the previous owners probably moved away and left him behind, and the nice lady on reception said she hoped they dont find them, so I get to keep him!
So its waiting till Monday now.
