so, there was an event then..
Jul. 17th, 2007 02:04 pmSuppose I should at least attempt to keep myself up to date. lets see...
there was larp event. I ballgowned with the best of them, and looked fabulous doing it. unfortunately, there are no pics of me in my super finery on Saturday evening (when I ponced about in a gold dress looking marvelous), or from Friday when I wore my black and red dress. Only pic I can find is of my in my super-relaxed skirt and shirt combo of Saturday teatime.

there are a couple of other shots close ups of my face but I like this one the most. The wig was fabulous and looked amazing, as everyone kept telling me. Lots of people didnt even recognise me at all, which was perfect.
lots of fun was had. highlights include:
shortest game of Kubb ever (10 mins)
winning lots of prizes in the side games (throw the dagger at the convicted war criminal being my favourite)
our guard captain winning the Rite of Challenge using the "jhereg way" (i.e. everyone else interfering - the triple wounding was quite successful)
our sergeant coming second in teh single sword contest
Dave Y being remarkably lucky at the poison challenge
the creation of the House Daga theme song (to the tune of the Neighbours theme) during a time freeze
Giovani's apple game
having an awesome tent
wearing three different outfits in one day
pepperami surprise
spending all day embroidering an invitation for the ladies of House Domecq to come over for drinks and games after dinner.
said drinks being interrupted by the death of one of their group
the greenest court, in particular Arun's character kissing me on the cheek - freaky as anything
Jamie tripping over Hodgy at 3am and crashing into our Alchemy lab
and lots more besides.
drive home was a nightmare, although ready to leave at half four due to expedient packing, didnt get home till 8 cos of the traffic. having 6 people unloading the van was awesome.
oh and finding the Nerdlinger's collection of White Dwarf magazines they'd picked up at the event in one of their crates was highly amusing.
my house is now in total disarray, although everything should be in the correct crate now, which means unpacking and repacking shouldnt take too long. lots of hand-washing to do though, due to mud and spilt drinks, and overenthusiastic drunks.

day off yesterday which was much needed, lots of sleep was had, Delvy came round to get his kit and ended up staying for a bit of a waah, which was cool
then we went into town and had pizza express dinner and went to cinema to see HP5. Was disappointed by film. Am eagerly awaiting delivery of the HP7 book, which I hope will not disappoint.
my mobile broke at the weekend, is now doing lots of crazy random things. I have upgraded, so by tomorrow I will be back to normal service (which doesnt really affect anyone, as I never call/text anyone anyway). so now I have new pretty nokia phone.
