supertinks | really interesting telly

Did anybody else watch Virgin School on Channel 4 last night? Jamie and I did, and it was really interesting. Also a bit creepy, cos I didn't really need to actually watch the guy losing his virginity to a Dutch prostitute at the end, but the rest of it was interesting.

Basically he was just really shy and lacking in confidence, had no idea about girls because he'd missed out on the whole teenage experimentation part of growing up, on account of having been bulied mercilessly by his schoolmates and not having any friends. He still lived with his Dad (at age 26) and didn't have a job except delivering the local free paper. His bedroom was tiny, and the only things I could identify in it were his Stargate and Buffy DVD Box sets (sound like anyone you know?).

The dutch ladies who ran the course were a little odd, all quite old and things. But they seemed very genuine, as if they actually cared about helping these people.

We were pleased to see they did lots of coaching on things like how to dress properly, and how to eat properly and exercise and things, which helped build his confidence as much as the intimacy coaching did.

But yeah, naked skinny geek with naked haggard old prostitute - not good viewing. There was lots of cringing towards the end.

And we're not sure what kind of reaction the poor bloke is going to get when everyone recognises him as the bloke that had to go to Amsterdam to learn how to have sex.

Still, I suppose its helped, because he's no longer hung up about being a virgin on account of not being one anymore, he's not afraid of sex now, and he's got a new job in a cinema, so he's obviously got a lot more confidence in himself.

Was definately worth a watch. I'm sure it'll be repeated at some point on More4 or something, if you missed it.
