1.Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Don’t really like either, but will drink hot chocolate if forced.

 

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
He just delivers them. The elves do the wrapping. Obviously.

3. Coloured lights on tree/house or white?
Coloured, and flashing in an epilepsy-encouraging random fashion. But only on a tree. Nothing on the house. That’s just tacky.

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
No.

5. When do you put your decorations up?
In the most recent years they haven’t been up as long as I’d like, as I’ve not had the room. As its stands, I don’t even have a tree at the moment! But Even if I had all the space/time in the world, they wouldn’t be up until December. (we have had them up in our office for some time now…)

6. What is your favourite festive season dish (excluding dessert)?
Sausagemeat stuffing.

7. Favourite Christmas memory as a child?
Seeing my Uncle Bob with stick-on devil horns attached to his forehead, being rather drunk at our big family Christmas dinner at Granny’s house in Yorkshire, I forget how old I was, 10-ish I think.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I don’t remember. Christmas definitely became less magical when we stopped having it at Granny’s house, because we’d swop presents with the family in October and there’d be a huge box of presents in the house for 3 months.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Traditionally our Christmas dinner (the one at Granny’s) was held on Christmas Eve, and she would buy us all a jokey present that we’d open at the table (hence the stick-on devil horns above). She still buys/sends those presents, but we got into the habit of opening them with the other presents on Christmas Day.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?

On my own! Noone ever helps me, its very annoying. I generally just throw stuff at it until it looks like its about to fall over.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
Like watching it, like walking outside when its just finished snowing and its all crisp and white. Hate it the rest of the time.

12. Can you ice skate?
Yes, haven’t been since Katherine, Ben and I went in Cardiff several years ago, but we’re going tomorrow at lunchtime!

13. Do you remember your favourite gift?
I’ve had lots of great Christmas presents over the years (and lots of awful ones!), I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite.

14. What's the most important thing about Christmas for you?
Being with the people I love.

15. What's your favourite Christmas Dessert?
We had icecream last year. And fruit. It was very nice. I don’t like Christmas cake, or Christmas pudding.

16. What is your favourite Christmas tradition?
Bucks Fizz for breakfast!

17. What tops your tree?
I have a foot long red glass spike with gold stars painted on it. Its great.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving?
I like both, but since I only buy presents for one person it doesn’t last very long!

19. What is your favourite Christmas Song?
Well I can’t stand the words of any Christmas Carol, what with it being all religious, but the American tune to O Little Town of Bethlehem is beautiful.

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
Mmmmmm, but I’m not allowed to have any.

21. Do you like fruitcake? Would you give it to someone as a gift?
No way, its icky.

22. How long will you keep up your Christmas decorations?
12 nights. Bad luck other wise.

23. If you could have a reindeer as a pet, which one would you have?
What kind of pet would a reindeer be? IT would make loads of mess, and steal all my carrots.

24. Do you stay up to see if maybe you'd hear sleigh bells?
No.

25. Are you one of the people always wearing a santa hat?
My santa hat wearing days are fewer now (in fact I don’t think I even own one anymore), but I will be seen in very tasteful Christmas earrings as we approach the festive season.
