Ok so the Heineken Cup started last night, four games in all. Both my team (the Llanelli Scarlets) and Jamie's team (the Swansea-Neath Ospreys) were in action last night, Ospreys playing Sale (the Guiness Prem champs), and the Scarlets came to Reading to face London Irish.
Naturally, Jamie and I got tickets to the Scarlets game and went along, because it was a golden opportunity to see my team play without having to travel to South Wales. Our seats were fantastic! Front row, right next to the Scarlet's dugout, on the 10 metre line. It was amazing. I will not go into excessive detail as I know sport of this kind bores a lot of you, however the highlights include:
The Scarlets winning (even though we went from 32 - 6 up, to 32 - 25 when we fell apart a bit at the end)
Being on the big screen!!! It was when the Scarlets scored their first try - I could see the cameraman kneeling down pointing his camera at us (as well as me and Jamie, we were sat next to two other Scarlets fans, and had about 4 sat directly behind us - the rest of the stand was London Irish fans, so we kind of stood out as a little haven of red in a sea of green), but was too busy concentrating on Stephen Jones' conversion attempt, as it was a difficult one. When he scored it, we all started cheering and clapping and stuff, and then I glanced up and saw the big screen filled, not with all 8 of us as I had supposed, but just me. Which was very cool.
Being on TV!!! Not only was I on the big screen, but I made it onto the Sky Sports extended highlights programme! How cool is that!
*is all happy*
