I did have loads of stuff I was meaning to post on here this evening, about my weekend and the water fiasco on Sunday and my new job and things, but it is all overshadowed by the phone call I just had.
It was with a guy called Dave, who is apparently the owner of Fidget, or 'Olly' as he is apparently named. Seems he showed up at their house today for the first time in ages - he'd gone missing and they had no idea where he was. Turns out, they're just round the corner, so why the hell he hasn't been back there till now I don't know.
Jamie's gone round there now, to talk to him about stuff, but it looks like he'll be staying with them. There's another cat there who's been his playmate etc since they had them (they've had the cat for like 5 years) and they have young children and everything (I could hear one of them when I was on the phone, probably about 5 or 6 I'd reckon), so I can't honestly steal their cat away.
All this of course is making me very sad (hence why I haven't gone over with Jamie). Jamie is at least going to try and get some of the vets fees back off him, oh and we're going to have to cancel the insurance too.
So.. Caro.. these kittens of yours....
Edit: After an evening of sitting around being all sad, and wondering if we were going to see him again etc, I was sitting on the arm of the settee chatting to Jamie when I saw movement outside. It was Fidget! Leaping up at the window, meowling his head off (this was about 11pm). So I opened the window, and he came rushing in, meowling and running round in circles. He looked kinda hungry, so I fed him and he wolfed it down, then settled down for a wash and sleep on the chair. He's currently curled up on Jamie's knee.
Jamie reckons they shut him in the house when he came back, and he's been incessantly fussed and pushed and played with by the kid/parents, and as soon as they let him out he came running back to us.
So we may well get to keep him after all.
Watch this space....
