UPDATE ON THE STRAY CAT
Sep. 3rd, 2006 11:51 amWell, turns out the RSPCA only have one person in the area on a Sunday, and she had to go to Swindon to deal with a dog which was being badly treated, or something, so we had to take the cat to the emergency vet clinic on the other side of town.
As it was an RSPCA logged case, we didn't have to pay them, which was nice.
The vet checked her out (yes it was a her, possibly part of the reason Fidg was getting so riled up), there doesn't appear to be anything properly wrong with her, but they're going to do a full blood screen etc. She has only got one tooth, and is very very thin. But the vet said since she was eating food ok she would be ok. He did a brief test of her hearing and had similar results to what we had the night before, so there is a chance the cat is permanently deaf.
Anyway, she's at the vets now, and the RSPCA are going to pick her up tomorrow.
Jamie is now merrily bleaching the kitchen floor, and Fidg has settled down a lot now she's gone.
I am pleased, we did the Right Thing, and the cat is more than likely going to be alright. All she needs is a home and loving owners to take care of her. I'd have done it myself, except the house just isnt big enough for more than one cat.
