supertinks | Week from hell

Well not quite a week from hell, more like end-of-the-week from hell. Started yesterday, with the snow. Pretty yes. Pretty annoying also. Bastard freezing in the office, and Sophie and myself had a pleasant afternoon of gossiping and working. Felt like a Friday. Which meant when I had to get up this morning, I was all depressed, cos my body thought it was Saturday.

Anyway, I got up and had breakfast and made my sarnies and stuff, successfully left the house on time (ie around 8am, got in my car, drove onto the motorway... The M4 looked clear (well as clear as it usually is at 8am on a weekday!) when I joined it, but it took me HALF AN HOUR to go one mile. It was snowing very heavily, all three lanes were snarled up, when I finally got a traffic report on the radio at 8.20, I discovered that the M4 had been CLOSED(!!!) because of a 3-car accident just before junction 11. I mean come on, this is not going to put me in a good mood. Snow swirling everywhere, everything at a standstill. I was stuck in it for an hour and a half. I was in bad mood enough when I finally got to the office at 10am (I start work at 8.30), discovered Sophie was also as late as me, cos she was arriving at the same time as me, so we walked in together.

Where we learned that Kelly (the supervisor of the other team) had decided that since we were late we had to make up the time by working through our lunches. Normally I wouldnt mind, if it was my own fault e.g. sleeping through an alarm, or running out of petrol or something. But an hour and a half of working through lunch (we only get an hour a day, dont forget), to make up for the fact that we were late because the Thames Valley Police CLOSED the motorway... is a little unfair, don't you think?

I appreciate that we were not there and working for 1.5 hours, however there is so little work we can actually do here because of the shitty shitty training procedures that mean Sophie and I can't actually do half of what the job entails because we're not allowed, mean that not having us for 1.5 hours doesnt really matter all that much.

Noone else got stuck in it cos they all come a different way, or had passed J11 before the accident happened.

Raaaar. Am very annoyed. Don't mind cutting lunch a little short today because I didnt start work till like 10.15, but no way am I doing it next week. They can go screw themselves for that.
