today was a very pleasant day. we got to bed quite late last night, so slept in till about 11. we then got up and Jamie cooked a big fried breakfast while i sorted out the stuff we needed to take back with us. Jamie was still all up for going to Oakwood and going nuts on the rollercoasters, but the weather conspired against us, and was cloudy and rainy and cold.

i convinced Jamie there was no point spending £30 to go to a theme park in that kind of weather, so sadly we didnt manage rollercoasters. so instead, we drove to Swansea and Jamie took me to see the beach he spent a lot of time on as a kid. Its right on the end of the Gower and is huge. Rolling sand dunes, the works (http://www.explore-gower.co.uk/rhossili.html). it was awesome. we took off our shoes, rolled up our trousers and had a paddle in the sea. it was awesome.

then we came home. the only thing we didnt do, which we could easily have done, is call in and see Jamie's parents. they're always having a go at him for not going to visit them enough (they are very traditionally welsh parents), and i'm sure they'd be upset if they discovered we drove right past the front of their house and didnt stop. ah well, plenty of time for that

Jamie and I are going back to the Gower in the spring to go camping there. it will be very cool.
