Well it strikes me that since I've moved I havent really talked to a lot of people, even with the internet at my beck and call. I've always been fairly crap at maintaining friendships across long distances though, I hardly speak to my school friends or any of the guys from TT (random welsh charity thing I used to be involved in), even though we all promised to stay in touch. So I'm a little worried now that I'm gonna lose touch with quite a lot of my mates from York too.

so with this in mind, a quick update on whats been going on in my life since I left York several weeks ago. (have cut to make journal look neater, cos i do go on a bit..)

The Flat itself is going fairly well, getting used to living with Beaver again took a while but I'm getting there now. Its nice actually to be able to talk to him and see him and not to have to rely on msn messenger and webcam pics. Even if we are sat in opposite corners of the room doing completely different self-absorbing tasks (for me, reading a book, for him, playing Diablo 2), its just nice that we're in the same place so have the option of talking to each other. And of course, cos we got to know each other originally while living together-ish, it has been very easy to set up our home in a way that works for both of us, with minimal arguments about what goes where in the kitchen for example. I also managed to neatly avoid any form of responsibility for emptying the rubbish bins (A job i despise) by agreeing to let Beav have nothing to do with the laundry (which in itself is a good thing!). So things are going smoothly there.

Beav bought the D&D Miniatures Handbook as a book to read in work, so we are now collecting the Minis and playing the game, since its actually not all that bad a game, and the minis are kinda cool. We're about to have a massive spending spree on ebay, for we have discovered people who have bought lots of the boxes and are selling the minis individually, so we can just get the ones we want, which is nice. Its nice to finally definately own something that is "ours", not just his or mine. Things like the bookcase and the bed etc already were "ours" but this is somehow nicer.

Jobhunting has been a strange thing so far. I updated my CV after my graduation, and did the whole 'going to the job centre' thing and got a load of application forms etc to fill in. Have had 2 interviews so far (one with Scholl, one with EWM) and have another one on Tuesday morning (H Samuel). The Scholl job is definatley full time, so enough hours for the money. EWM is only 18 hours so not really enough money, however they want to give me the job. Not sure how many hours the H Samuel one is yet, but I have to decide on Tuesday if I want the EWM job or not. If I dont manage to find a shop job easily then I have to go to an agency and get a crap call centre type thing, which I dont want, even though they pay more than retail.

In other news, we bought the Simpsons Hit and Run Game and its very cool; Beav has been very nice to me and bought me a sewing machine too.

Its kinda weird cos now we're back together in the same place Beav is doing more little things to show me he loves me. Like letting me have a lie in at the weekend, instead of demanding I get up at 9am like he does during the week (Even on fridays which is his day off). Like not complaining like a bitch when I see a big hairy black spider on the ceiling and want it removed - last night he just got up from his computer and did it without questioning or complaining or calling me names or anything. Like randomly taking me into town and buying me things like the sewing machine. Cooking me breakfast a lot. Not yelling at me when the house is a mess. Not complaining when I want to hug him.

Although he is still demanding that I'm not allowed to learn to cook...
