ok well i havent really said anything of import on here lately, so its about time i did.

firstly, I have decided to hand in my notice and stop working for H Samuel. Not because i dont enjoy my job, i do. I just dont enjoy doing my managers job for him as well, getting more and more responsibility piled on me, and getting paid a pittance for it. I have registered with reed.co.uk and they have so far proved to be very efficient. I popped in to see them today, as I finished work early (4.30). Did a typing test and a data entry test to see how good I was. my typing speed was good, 68-point-something words a minute, and the lovely consultant (Clare)'s eyes nearly popped out of her head (in that comedy cartoon stylee) when she saw my data entry results. apparently i'm very fast. so it looks like i'm going to be getting a slightly-better paid job doing something data-entry related, which although dull, will help pay for my car.

secondly, having my own car is GREAT! drove up to york on saturday, as I had the day off. took two hours, and was very pleasant. went into town and had a wander, then settled in O'Neills to eat food and watch the game. Rosie and Katherine stuck their noses in, but Kat didnt stay as it was too noisy and she was in an odd hormone-induced mood which did not mix well with the increasing drunken loudness of the footie and rugby fans in teh pub. Our intention was to stay and watch the Wales V Ireland 6 Nations championship decider game, and it was the only pub in york we could find. When we arrived, I felt very uneasy, as the pub was full of Ireland supporters, and there wasnt a red shirt in sight (apart from mine). However an hour and a half later, at kick off, there were more Welsh there, and it seemed that we outnumbered the Irish in the end. Which was good, as it was a fantastic match which Wales won. I enjoyed it immensley, from the incredible display of rugby, to the fact that Wales were winning, to the atmosphere in the pub. It was totally friendly, everyone was united in their love for the game and their countries, came second best only to actually being at the game itself (which my parents, the lucky bastards, were). After the game we went back to Kats, and got ready to go to Wendyhouse. I wore my lovely if a bit slutty black velvet dress with the massive split up the front (see Maco's website for the pic) and lots of ribbons in my hair. We drove to Leeds, following a route which Beaver and I had devised on the complete lack of anyone giving me directions. We got there with much success, and I was very impressed. Wendyhouse was fun, even though I wasnt drinking. I wasnt sure if I would enjoy it as much sober, but I did. I drank lots of coke, and spent many hours enjoying the company of my university friends, both old and new. I am exceedingly pleased with the new firstyears i have met. I like them.

we left WH early, as i was getting tired and beaver was worried about me driving back. We finally went to bed at about 3.10, and left almost as soon as we'd got up the next morning (half eleven or so) as we had to get back so beav could go to work.

Maelstrom this weekend, I'm not going but am driving beav there and back. my lack of involvment in the event only extends to not playing, as beaver has me making banners and table covers and all manner of IC tent decorating things. so far I have made a huge Raddock Bay symbol to go on the outside of the tent, so people know who we are, and i've bought a folding table and made it a cover, so people dont know its a £15 folding table from Argos. I've still got to make more inner tent decorations, but i'm running out of inspiration. at least i have tomorrow off so have more time :)
