supertinksThe contractor, Dave, came round this morning. 8am sharp. They've put a radiator in my toilet, and a new loft access hatch at the top of the stairs.

No more cold knees when I pee! Hopefully this will also help prevent the wall from getting damp.
And the loft hole:
So now I have more space! We will wait for Dave to come back and finish off though - the insulation in the attic is not good, so he is going to come back and put proper insulation in. He is also going to come back and re-do the pointing on the outside of the house.
All of this should add up to a warmer, less damp house. Not sure about the windows though. No word on getting double glazing at the back yet.
When the insulation is done, I am going to utilise some of the spare boards I have lying around and put stuff up in the attic that we don't really need access to right now. In nice, watertight plastic crates (in case the roof leaks).
