I dont get why so many people seem to get so depressed during the winter. Sure tis not a particularly great time of year, what with the cold and the wet and the ice and the snow etc, and I dont really like it, compared to say summer or spring. But i dont see the point in becoming irrationally depressed etc. weird

Beaver says its because they're a bunch of "women who generally wallow in their own self-pity". maybe the wine is getting to him.

speaking of which, after a horrid day at work, Beav has successfully cheered me up no end, with a lovely warm flat (have i ranted about the central heating yet? maybe I'll do that tomorrow), really nice posh yummy food, a big chocolate fudge cake, and an absolutely scrumptious bottle of wine. Wolf Blass Presidents Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2001. was £10 for the bottle. Was absolutely delicious. Its times like this that make me forget any reason I may ever have for disliking beav, and make me feel ever so lucky to have him.

Personally, I'm depressed at the moment because some pretty shitty things have been happening to me, and I have a depressive personality anyway. Lots of people (not just women) get depressed in teh winter because of SAD, it has nothign to do with their particular view of winter, but is a result of their bodies not getting enough of teh sun. It is a chemical reaction, so far as I understand it.

Serotonin levels in the brain fluctuate dependent on light intensity. One of the reasons goths are mopey and people get depressed in winter...
