Well went back to work today after a lovely relaxing day off yesterday, during which I did very little. Work was absolutely crap. It was really stressful and exhausting, and fairly boring as there weren't many customers. One good thing about work is that there is a new person there now, who started yesterday. He's pretty groovy, was interesting to talk to and made a nice change.

The only other good thing about work is that after coming back after a weekend away I realised that I am beginning to become quite good friends with Christina, which is good. She's a mad irish girl who's recently got married, is around my age and its nice to have a friend who is at the same sort of stage in her life as me. Not that I dont like any of the friends I already have mind you, its just a lot of them are still in "crazy student" mode so it becomes harder to relate to them now I'm all sensible and grown up and settling down.

Felt soo much better when I left work, as I got to come home to a relatively clean and tidy flat, read the new issue of Cosmo and unpack all my new D&D miniatures.

A new set was released recently and its finally arrived in our local D&D stockist, so I went crazy and bought 4 packs. Kind of an anniversary present for us, as it was our 3rd anniversary yesterday. Not that we really did anything for it, as we kind of went all out last month when we got engaged. But we wanted lots of the new minis so it was more of an excuse to buy them than anything else! There are loads of cool new minis, including a Kobold Sorceror who looks a lot like the Skeksis from the Dark Crystal), a Sahuagin Ranger (funky green lizard thing), the Iron Cobra, some new and interesting goblins including a red one with a big horn on its nose) and a funky adventuring wizard dude who looks a lot like Beav's character from Kev's game. So I had fun unpacking them and reading all about them. Got new terrain tiles as well, so our next game will be more interesting too.

I also picked up Halflife 2 while I was in town, definately as a present for Beaver, not just for our anniversary but more to say thankyou for being so great. Even when I'm being awkward. So he is now merrily installing that, while I am about to go and sort out the washing, as he's running out of socks :)

*grins* I did the grown-up and settled down bit all the way through my student days, and then stopped. :-) I'm all for settling down if I find the right person mind you, but growing-up...not just yet thank you. Want to still be able to go wandering the streets at stupid o'clock in the morning and have fun on the spur of the moment. Cos I missed that all the way through uni.

so far i have found that being grown up and settled has not prevented me from wandering the streets at stupid o' clock in the morning, nor from having fun on the spur of the moment.

I just do both these things with Beav

I'm all sensible and grown up and settling down.

Sorry, the above phrase just seemed to imply that you weren't having any fun, that everything was all cooking and cleaning and marriage plans, and that's no way to have fun. I should know, I've done that bit already. I know many people who are happily married and still not grown up. Grown-up tends to imply being sensible, you see. ;-)

sensible doesnt necessarily mean no fun though

i can see you and I are coming at this from different angles and are probably not going to agree, due to past experiences and all that..

indeed for the most part, life is cooking and cleaning and marriage plans, and i'm enjoying every minute of it
