Lo folks, just got back from our whistle-stop tour of England. Am still alive, managed to avoid falling asleep behind the wheel on the way back today, but only just..

The car hire place was both good and bad on Friday, they came to pick me up at 10 like i'd arranged, but then I had to wait 90 minutes for my car since they didnt have one at the office that I could drive. Cos i'm only 21 so I have to have 1.2 engines, of which there werent any. Jim said "There's a Seat coming back in you can have, it'll be here in 10-15 mins" so I said "thats fine I'll wait". Half past bloody eleven it arrived.

So the lateness of the car meant we hit the M25 at 4pm, mmm rush hour on a Friday, complete with roadworks. Nice.

Got to Timmeh's in Tunbridge Wells about 6.30 ish, had food, got changed and then Tim drove us into London. It was really cool, as whenever I've been to London in the past, I've only ever been to the very centre, where all the tourist attractions etc are. But since we were driving in, we drove through loads of the edge bits, which was cool. Since Beaver had never been to London before ever, Tim was showing him where everything was. I have some cool pictures I took with my phone of the London Eye, which we drove past. And we also drove past Mornington Crescent Station, which I knew existed but had no idea where it was.
Saw Ben, Vicky and others in a pub in the middle of town, had a few drinks and chatted for a bit it was good. Then we drove with Bev +1 to Camden, and went to the Electric Ballroom. We successfully managed not paying very much to get in, as Tim succeeded in pretending to be Jim and being on the guest list as Jim +1, and Beav used Tim's membership card to get in cheap. We drank merrily and laughed at goths and watched the girls dancing in their cages and it was fun. Got back to Tim's at 4-something am. Went straight to sleep.

I think my airbed is broken. We took it with us to sleep on at Tim's, inflated it before we went out. Chris (Tim's housemate) cleared up the living room while we were out and dumped all our stuff on the air bed. When we got in, it was flat. So we reinflated it and went to bed. When we woke up, it was flat. Not just a little bit, I was sleeping on the floor with nothing cushioning me at all. So we're going to have to have a closer look at it before events next year...

On Saturday morning we had a large fried affair for breakfast and sat round watching cartoons for a while. Tim introduced us to the wonder that is "Samurai Jack". Then we spoke to Jen and Keir and decided to go to Northampton earlier than planned.

Tim showed me where I was going, as of course we had to drive separately. We made it to Northampton, but then got HORRIBLY LOST looking for Rich's house. It was amusing. Had to ring Tim and get better directions. But we got there in the end.

Rich and Tim were there when we arrived, then Garry, Caro and Jen arrived, closely followed by Keir and Ed (who we didnt know was going to be there). FNG, Humpo, Flathead and Tubby all appeared, as did Brid and then surprisingly Paul. So there were lots of people. Oh yeah and there was Jack. and Kate for a bit.
I was surprised by some people's reactions/behaviour towards us. People I would have expected to be very friendly etc weren't, and people I wouldnt have expected to bother with us much were great! the people I was expecting to get excited about seeing us regarding the engagement etc completely ignored us, and the three people I had the longest chats with about it all, complete with girly showing off of the ring, were Brid, Matt and Keir's girlfriend! none of whom I really know at all. It was very peculiar.
There was much drinking and chatting and playing of Halo 2, and then we went to the Soundhaus, which is remarkably close to Rich's house! I would have enjoyed the evening better had I not developed a massive headache that refused to go away (yes I know drinking more and being in a loud club probably dont help), but it was still fun. After we left the club (including a whole losing-of-Ed fiasco) we went back to Rich's and chatted till about 4am, at which point Beav and I collapsed into bed and fell asleep.

Woke up at about 11am this morning, and spent until about half 2 sat on a sofa in Rich's front room feeling rather delicate. my headache went away though. While we were driving up the M1, after having already agreed to cut out Leicester and go home, it occured to us that we could just keep driving and spend the night in York, but noone of interest was there and I was dying so we threw that plan out of the window as silly and just came home.

Am still feeling somewhat delicate, its very cold in the flat and I'm still not used to how the heating works. It is on, but I dont really see it having much effect...
