Weekend update - mostly Bo and Rosco!

So this weekend we went to Wales to visit Jamie's parents, see Bo and Rosco for the first time since they left Caro's, and to swap the Metro for the new Ford Ka.
Was lovely to see D&T, they were in fine form as always. Across the two days, they managed to call Jamie by the names of all three of their sons (!) and at one point, when telling me about something (Jamie not even in the room), D refered to T as "your mother" instead of "Tydfil", which made me smile.
Highlights of the weekend (non cat or car related) include the apples growing in the garden. They have an apple tree in the middle of the lawn and it was covered in fruit just ready to be picked. So we ate lots of apples and picked loads to bring home (I've got 19 left at the moment). I intend to use them this weekend to make some sort of apple crumble, and possible apple and cinnamon scones as well because they were lovely the last time I made them. We also brought home fresh tomatoes from their greenhouse. Other highlights include our brief nip down to Llanelli on Saturday evening to have a look at my rugby club's new stadium, which is opening soon (November time). It is very funky and looks awesome (so much better than the god-awful shed they had before - Stradey Park). I'm amazed at how quickly its all gone up, as there was nothing really there the last time we saw it.
Lets deal with the car next - it was very sad of course to leave the Metro behind, but the new car is awesome! Electric windows! A CD Player! Air Conditioning! Alloy wheels! A ridiculous bean can exhaust! Its a very nice shade of blue, I'll take a picture and post it up later on this week.
Now, on to the important part (or, I should say, the part that you actually want to read!). Bo and Rosco!
I'll do an update on each one individually, because there is so much to say! And I'll start with Rosco, because he's my favourite.
So, at nearly six months old, Rosco is turning out to be an absolutely gorgeous animal. His markings are amazing! His paws are enormous - he's got a lot of growing still to do. He's such a gentle animal though, and is so good with his brother. He's very playful, and from what I understand their games used to be quite boisterous, but since Bo's been ill he's been very gentle with him. If you play with Rosco with a particular toy, and Bo steals it off him, he wont fight for it back because he knows that Bo isnt well and it wouldnt be nice. He seems very patient with him, and very understanding of the fact that Bo is currently deaf. I get the feeling that he would really really like to go outside, because he spends a lot of time sitting staring out of the back door (especially when people are outside), but of course with Bo being ill and not vaccinated yet, and with them still carrying FCV, they're not allowed outside at all. Which is a little sad.
He spent the night in the bedroom with Jamie and me - he was very interested in the smell of my sleeping bag, which of course smells like Caro's cats!
Here is Rosco looking adorable (and very much like Granddaddy Taronga, I think):

He has some very cute habits as well, which I shall tell you about now. He loves water. No really. Loves it. Lots. They have to put their water bowls in a tray, because he's constantly climbing in it and knocking the bowls over. If you go to the bathroom, if you don't shut the door behind you, you wont be able to use the sink, because there'll be a Rosco in it. Tydfil had told me about this but I didnt believe her till I saw it for myself. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth before going to bed. He ran in behind me, jumped up onto the toilet and by the time I had the tap running to rinse my toothbrush, he was in the sink playing with the water. You have to turn the bath tap on to make him go away! Then he goes and sits in the bath and plays with that water instead. Incredibly cute! He also, apparently, runs into the bathroom and jumps straight into the bath - they are convinced one day he is going to do that when the bath is full and get a bit of a shock!

On to Bo!
Bo is still suffering from being deaf and wheezy and things. On Friday he had an issue with not being able to breathe properly, and the vet said they might do the op to remove the polyp in his nose and clear out his ears today. But he was a lot better over the weekend, so he may change his mind and say its better to wait and do it at the same time as neutering him. We think it would be better to get the ears cleaned out and the polyp removed asap, but if the vet thinks too many operations would be bad for little Bo, then he will just have to wait and be deaf a little while longer.
His balance is a little wobbly, and he walks very stiffly, almost like he's having to really concentrate to make sure he goes in a straight line. and being deaf, he's constantly looking about himself to make sure he knows whats going on. It makes it difficult to play with him, because if the toy moves to fast he loses it. But in himself he is still bright and active and interested in everything. And is super friendly and cute. He doesnt like being picked up - will scratch and bite - mainly because of the sheer amount of associated-with-bad-things handling he's had to go through - pills and so on. But if you're very lucky, he will come and say hello and sit on you and things. He seems to have remembered his fondness for Jamie - he jumped up onto the sofa (something he has rarely done since losing his balance) and curled up on his knee, and he actually let Jamie pick him up yesterday morning and give him a cuddle for a while. Jamie's mum was very impressed!
Here is Bo:

I also have a very cute video of Bo playing his favourite game, which I thought I had uploaded to Photobucket, but apparently not. Will check that tonight and post it later, because its very cute and I know you'll all love to see it.
The rest of the photos I took of them this weekend are on my photobucket page http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/supertinks/ if you want to go and have a look at them.
Right I'd best go do some work!
