Mar. 5th, 2006 07:12 pmLots and lots of driving was involved in today. Lots of it. We got up stupidly early for a Sunday, left Reading at 9am or thereabouts. Drove to my parents house in Pembs, a normally 4 hour drive taking only 3 hours, due to lack of traffic, no hold-ups on the small roads in Wales, and me driving like a lunatic.
Popped in to Mum and Dad's house to pick up a huge bag of LRP kit, a shield, a chessboard and a box of playstation bits and bobs. Then back in the car, where Jamie took over the driving and drove us to his parents house near Swansea. I had not met them before, Jamie had got very worried about it, but it all went rather well. Tydfil fed us and Spook (the ancient cat they have) seemed to like me very much, which is unsurprising since cats generally like me. The point of this side trip was of course to fetch Jamie's car, so we both drove back from there.
We drove the 3 hours from Swansea to Reading in a mini convoy, Jamie driving behind me. When we got to reading, we did a test to see if it was any quicker going off different junctions - Jamie went off at 11 and I drove on to 10. I got there a fraction before Jamie, as I was pulling up to our street he came up behind me, and the only reason I got my car parked first was cos Jamie had to wait for me to park before he could get to the space further up the road. Was much fun.
Now we have Rome: Total War, and some stuff. I have playstation games, but cannot play them, as Andy is playing on his PS2 at the moment, and I wasnt allowed to bring a spare telly.
