Nov. 14th, 2004 07:07 pmLo folks, just got back from our whistle-stop tour of England. Am still alive, managed to avoid falling asleep behind the wheel on the way back today, but only just..
The car hire place was both good and bad on Friday, they came to pick me up at 10 like i'd arranged, but then I had to wait 90 minutes for my car since they didnt have one at the office that I could drive. Cos i'm only 21 so I have to have 1.2 engines, of which there werent any. Jim said "There's a Seat coming back in you can have, it'll be here in 10-15 mins" so I said "thats fine I'll wait". Half past bloody eleven it arrived.
So the lateness of the car meant we hit the M25 at 4pm, mmm rush hour on a Friday, complete with roadworks. Nice.

I think my airbed is broken. We took it with us to sleep on at Tim's, inflated it before we went out. Chris (Tim's housemate) cleared up the living room while we were out and dumped all our stuff on the air bed. When we got in, it was flat. So we reinflated it and went to bed. When we woke up, it was flat. Not just a little bit, I was sleeping on the floor with nothing cushioning me at all. So we're going to have to have a closer look at it before events next year...
On Saturday morning we had a large fried affair for breakfast and sat round watching cartoons for a while. Tim introduced us to the wonder that is "Samurai Jack". Then we spoke to Jen and Keir and decided to go to Northampton earlier than planned.
Tim showed me where I was going, as of course we had to drive separately. We made it to Northampton, but then got HORRIBLY LOST looking for Rich's house. It was amusing. Had to ring Tim and get better directions. But we got there in the end.

Woke up at about 11am this morning, and spent until about half 2 sat on a sofa in Rich's front room feeling rather delicate. my headache went away though. While we were driving up the M1, after having already agreed to cut out Leicester and go home, it occured to us that we could just keep driving and spend the night in York, but noone of interest was there and I was dying so we threw that plan out of the window as silly and just came home.
Am still feeling somewhat delicate, its very cold in the flat and I'm still not used to how the heating works. It is on, but I dont really see it having much effect...
