I have been on the phone to my gran this lunchtime, and she has no problems with the plan as it stands.

so, Caro, expect me on Thursday 15th, wielding booze in exchange for food and a place to stay
oh, and on Sunday 18th, i shall call in on my way home for a couple of hours to break up my journey

rosie and york - expect me on Saturday 17th, wielding food in exchange for booze and a place to stay! have a think about where you'd like us to eat on the saturday evening - I mean to keep my promise of buying you both dinner! feel free to organise any number of people for socialising through the evening as well, I shall leave it in your capable hands :-)

specific times i shall leave till closer to the date (ie in a couple of weeks) before deciding on.

I love it when a plan comes together!

Socialising wise there are a number of options. Think a fair number of folks (jeff and the like) are going to be off monstering at a random larp event. The 17th should also be the 3rd Saturday of the month which could mean wendyhouse if you felt like it (although given all the driving to and from York I can understand if that seems a bit much). Otherwise we can try and gather those people not running around pretending to be killer aliens & those not wendyhousing in one place for drinks and chat. What sounds best to you and Rosie?

I would say gathering up those not at either larp or wendyhouse and getting them in one place for drinks and chat would be best.

Depends how many you can get, really, and where, as to what we do. I have some new boardgames I got for Christmas (Arkham Horror and Cranium) plus my old favourites, so I could bring those along if people wanted...

Alas, I much less in touch with SF&F people these days. I can poke Ed, but he is a busy man, of late. I can poke Louis with relative ease, as he's often as not round here anyway, but apart from that...
