christmas parties and stuff
Dec. 21st, 2006 02:47 pmLast night was the unofficial work christmas do. Now I wasnt originally going, as they booked it ages ago back when I first started, and I didnt think I'd be able to afford it.
However, lots of people from upstairs wussed out, and cancelled, so there was a free ticket going yesterday afternoon. The girls in the office bent my arm and told me I was going, despite my "no money" and "no dress" arguments. Shelley lent me a black dress, and they all assured me they would pay for my drinks.
So I went along.
It was organised by some company what does big parties (bestpartiesever.com, I think), oriental themed evening, in a huge marquee down by Tesco.
There was a meal, and dodgems, and inflatable sumo wresling, and a bucking bronco (and the usual DJ/dancefloor rubbish). Food was cool, the fountains were cool, the bucking bronco was very amusing (I didnt go on it, although I would have liked to, for fear of a wardrobe malfunction). Dodgems were very fun, although it was very cold outside.
I only stayed til 12, as Jamie was coming to pick me up and he wanted to make sure he had a decent nights sleep, as he's off to London this afternoon for his work do.
Everyone had lots of fun, and there are not too many hangovers or embarrassing photos today, although Michelle is very tired for not going to bed till 4am, and David was suffering greatly this morning!
Highlights of the evening include:
+free booze
+dodgems
+Michelle and Mark's sumo fight
+David on the bucking bronco
+Dancing girls
I am very tired today, and my feet hurt. However, I was not hung over in the slightest, as I was sensible and only had a few glasses of vodka.
I have just bought Mr Fidget's Christmas present, using the proceeds from my recent e-bay selling spree. However, he probably wont get it till after Christmas now. Its a new scratching post/activity centre thing, not too big (as we don't have the room) but bigger than the measly little scratching post he has at the moment.
Only one more day left in work till we're off for Christmas! woo!
