1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Hmm lets see.. graduated from uni? Got engaged? Rented my first nonstudent flat? Got a full time job?

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn’t make any, I generally don’t because, like Caro, I don’t see the point in having to do make them on Jan 1st.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Close to me, no, but Karen (the assistant manager in the HS branch in Chester that I don’t work at) had a son recently, just after both her parents died in the same week.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
My Uncle Ian while I was doing my final year project. And my Aunty Mary. I wasn’t that close to Uncle Ian (he is actually technically my second cousin) but Aunty Mary (a great aunt) played a very important part of my childhood and I shall miss her greatly.

5. What countries did you visit?
I popped to Wales a few times, if that counts.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
More money, good friends living locally (well I’ve lacked that since July)

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I don’t remember the exact date, but buying my engagement ring and getting engaged will probably stick in my mind. Also the day we signed the contract and emptied all my belongings into the flat. And the 9th of July, which was the day of my graduation.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Completing my degree with a 2:2. Getting engaged.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not getting a 2:1.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No real serious injuries or illness, I managed an injury free LARP season for the first time too.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Personally, I havent bought many things that would qualify here, except possibly my papasan. However, Beaver bought my piano and my diamond, and these are both very cool.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Ed definitely gets a prize for his diet success this year, Beaver for buying me a piano.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
A few people did one or two things that annoyed/upset me, but I’m not one to sit here and point fingers and that, since I got over it fairly quickly so theres no real need to harp on.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Moving house is where a lot of it went, other than that, LARP.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My piano. Maelstrom. Getting engaged. Moving in with Beav.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
EDIT!!! Have just been reminded of a song that is 2004 to me. Incubus "Wish you were here". For my birthday we went to see them live in Manchester. Now when I hear this song it reminds me of that, happy times spent with beav. before that it reminded me of bad bad things and made me upset. now it makes me happy.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

a) happier or sadder? Probably averaging even, actually, since certain things have made me happier and certain things have made me sadder.
b) thinner or fatter? Always the same, my weight never changes.
c) richer or poorer? Poorer, but that’s cos I’m not a student anymore.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spending quality time with my good friends.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Drinking and partying instead of working. Late nights!

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Working my little socks off at the shop, then off to Beav’s parents for Xmas dinner on the 25th.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
I was already in love. And still am. So its all good.

23. How many one-night stands?
Well, no.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Hmmm. I enjoyed What Not To Wear, The Heist, and some episodes of Eastenders.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don’t really hate anyone .

26. What was the best book you read?
The Harry Potter books. I’d read the first 2 before but I managed to read the rest of them this year and I’m very glad I did.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I learned how to play “Bright Eyes” on the piano :P

28. What did you want and get?
A forever diamond. A piano.

29. What did you want and not get?
A high paid job that involved little actual work. A winning lottery ticket.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Incredibles. Finding Neverland.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
It was my 21st and all of my wonderful friends in York organised a surprise fancy dress party which was excellent and I got very drunk and enjoyed myself immensely. I had 3 cakes.

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Having friends close by for the last 6 months, and not just seeing them at LARP or on the internet.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
I would say it was the same as it was last year and the year before last. I buy clothes I think are pretty and wear them together, regardless of whether they match. More tinker bell tshirts were bought. And a nice pair of boots. Oh yes and the shoes-and-handbags dress.

34. What kept you sane?
Sane? I’m not sure anything did.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Colin Firth. Most definitely. Such a sexy man with a sexy voice.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Bush being re-elected.

37. Who did you miss?
Benjamin. And Katherine. And Rosie. And the crazy first years (as a group, not as individuals).

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Rachel at work, cos she’s fantastic. And Christina and work, only less so. She is more sensible than Rachel and recently married and stuff, so she’s like a grown up friend, whereas Rach is like the crazy folk from uni.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
If you want something to happen, you have to do something about it. You cant rely on your judgement of other people and wait for them to do something first.
