Home at last!

This weekend has been lovely. Following on from previous update, lunch was at the Toby Carvery in Gorseinon. Nomm nomm tasty! I had turkey with many trimmings, Jamie had pork and ham. There was also beef, but none of us went for it, I think probably because the beef joint still being used was almost dead, so it didn't look as appetising as the half-calved turkey crown, or the brand new, juicy pork and gammon joints.

After lunch we rushed off from Jamie's parents to drive over to Cockett, to visit Jamie's old orchestra chum and his fiance. Cue two hours of highly entertaining chat and five very cute (if tiny) puss cats (one of whom is like a very miniature version of Fidget!). We eventually teared ourselves away at around five-ish, and headed for home.

Jamie drove the first leg, as he was the one who knew how to get back to the motorway. He drove till Leigh Delamere, which was probably further than his knee wanted him to go, considering he'd left his knee support back in Wales (!), but I was busy falling asleep in the passenger seat!. A brief walk around, and some Dr Pepper Zero, and I was ready to drive, and did the rest of the journey, with a brief stop in Membrey services to get petrol as we were looking like we might run out before we got home.

Eventually got here at just gone half eight-ish, and took ages finding a parking space. Fidget is excessively happy to see us, as usual, and there was an added extra bonus in that Jamie's parents gave us a scratching post their cats weren't using, and Fidget has (after an initial suspicious sniff) almost instantly had a massive session on it.

I don't think we'll get much sleep tonight - there'll be too many demands for furry cuddles.

Tomorrow is MOT day, so we have to get up early to clean the car and check the lights are working. I've got till 10.30 to get the car to the garage, and fortunately its right down the road from Halfords, so if I do need a new bulb we can pop over and do that before I book it in.

Have thought about it some more, and will definately be selling the Corsa once this MOT has been passed, and buying Jamie's Dad's Rover, as its a 2.2 litre turbo diesel with only 50k on the clock. It is white, but I think I can cope with that!

Now we are just enjoying some recorded rugby coverage from today - the other fixtures went Jamie's way, and the Ospreys have qualified for the quarter finals as the best runners up, which means they will go to Limerick to play Munster in the quarters in April. Early to bed though, tonight!
