crotchy update

Ok, so we put the collar on him, and de-flea'd him with the spot-on stuff. we did that last night. we had already put out a box with blankets in, because he was trying to sleep on my planting table.

Anyway, we left him last night all curled up in his box. I woke up during the night and all i could hear was rain. i spent some time worrying if Crotchy was ok, but was all warm and snuggled up to Mr Fidget, so didnt think it was worth my time getting out of bed to go check.

went out there this morning, and the blankets were soaking. Crotchy was curled up in the sun on a neighbours roof.

He seems much healthier this morning. I am not sure whether this is a direct result of all his fleas dying when they tried to bite him, or what. But he is nowhere near as interested in food (he actually left some food today for the first time). And his fur feels nicer today, which I think is because I flea-combed him yesterday.

Jamie got all worried about him getting through another night in the cold and rain, so he's rebuilt his box of blankets, and - using the materials available to him in the garden, which include ammo crates and lots of mdf - he has created a small enclosure to protect the box of blankets from the elements.

it is very cute, and so far, the cat is loving it. and Fidget is completely ignoring it, which is also good.

Ideally, Mr Fidget would grow to love Crotchy and then we would have 2 cats, but I am half convinced that we are eventually going to have to give up Crotchy. which is going to be very sad, because its almost two years now since we first met him, and we are both very fond of him.
